Things to do in North Norfolk
Whether you're into arts & culture, beaches, castle ruins, bird watching, boating & sailing, cycling, heritage & historic ruins, nature, railways, walking, or adventure themed outings; North Norfolk has it all.
Tatt Valley (near Fakenham) is a haven of rural tranquillity, but there is also plenty of interest for the visitor within a few miles. Holkham, Wells and Brancaster boast magnificent sandy beaches and there are important bird reserves at Sculthorpe, Titchwell, Cley and Snettisham. Walking and sailing are a delight along this unique coastline and the quiet lanes inland are perfect for cycling and walking. Boat trips to see the seals off Blakeney Point regularly depart from Blakeney Quay and Morston.
Places to visit:
Sandringham House Estate, Holkham Hall and Houghton Hall are just a few of the fine stately homes of Norfolk, only a few miles from Tatt Valley Holiday Cottages. And a little further afield there are ancient and impressive ruins at Castle Rising and Castle Acre.
Children love the Sea Life Centre at Hunstanton, a traditional seaside resort providing all kinds of family fun.
The RAF Sculthorpe Heritage Centre tells the history and stories of North Norfolk's only USAF atomic base. Once the largest and most strategically important American airbase, home to 10,000 personnel. For over a decade it was the atomic deterrent against the Soviet Union.
